Student Arrested After Fires Burn in Holly High School
An investigation of the area showed the two fires had been intentionally set with matches.

The following is press release from the Holly Police department:
On Nov. 7Β Holly Police and Holly Fire Department were dispatched to Holly High School at 6161 E Holly Rd. for a fire alarm. The school was evacuated and two fires were Β found burning on the second floor in garbage and recycling Β bins in the hallway.
An investigation of the area showed the two fires had been intentionally set with matches and a thirdΒ fire in another garbage bin had been lit but had burned outΒ
on itsβ own. The fires were extinguished, no one was injuredΒ and property damage was limited to the garbage and recyclingΒ bins.Β
Surveillance video of the high school hallways was retrieved Β and a juvenile suspect could be seen lighting the fires. A still image of the suspect was then sent electronically to school staffΒ and within several minutes the suspect, a 10th
School student, was identified, located and taken into custody.
The suspect later confessed to starting the fires and is currentlyΒ held in Childrenβs Village of Oakland County pending aΒ hearing in probate court on November 8th
suspect could face three counts of Arson, which is a 10-yearΒ felony.
