Voters to Decide Boards of Education, Library Millage Today
Polls are open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Many Fenton residents will be taking a trip to the polls today.
Tuesday's election ballot will include Fenton or Lake Fenton Board of Education candidates and a Genesee District Library millage increase proposal.
voters will have to decide among to fill two open spots on the Fenton Board of Education. The are competing for the open four-year positions. They all have or have had children in the Fenton schools.

School board President David Walker and Trustee Roger Ellis' terms will expire in June, and they will not be returning to their posts.
Most city of Fenton residents will vote at , 600 N. Adelaide St. in Fenton.

Lake Fenton voters will also choose among candidates for the Board of Education. There are three seats available, two for four-year terms and one for a three-year term.
Incumbent David Foerster and newcomers Larry Godlewski, Christopher Fletcher and Carrie Dershem are running for the four-year terms. Former board member Kristi Ocenasek (trustee, 2004-08) is running unopposed for the partial term.
Most Fenton Township residents will vote at , 4070 Lahring Rd. in Linden.
Also on local ballots will be a proposed for the Genesee District Library.
The millage is a countywide effort to help the library's 19 branches—including Fenton's Jack R. Winegarden Library—to continue to operate at their current levels. Â
If it passes, the millage would cover six years, increase taxes by 0.25 mills—or $0.25 on each $1,000 of taxable property value—and would raise approximately $2,208,000 in its first year to fund books, librarian and staff salaries, computers and a variety of programs.
Local jurisdictions and school districts in 82 of Michigan's 83 counties will be conducting an election.
