5 Things You Should Know This Week in Ferndale

3. The Orchtoberfest beer and wine tasting fundraiser for the Ferndale Public Schools orchestra program will be held starting at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at 22 Ridge Road in Pleasant Ridge.
4. The Ferndale Public Library will host its first Read Local Author Fair featuring Michigan writers from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.
5. Hear Detroit Symphony Orchestra flutists David Buck, Sharon Sparrow and Jeffery Zook in recital starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Ferndale First United Methodist Church.
