- University High School will host a meet-the-principals night from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7. Call 248-586-8846 to RSVP.
- Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen is Thursday, Aug. 8. A portion of proceeds from each Blizzard purchased will be donated and benefit Beaumont Children's Hospital.
- The ninth annual Green Cruise will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, on Nine Mile Road east of Woodward Avenue.
- The annual East Marshall block sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, and Sunday, Aug. 11.
- Peak viewing of the Perseid meteor shower will begin Sunday, Aug. 11. Stargazers could see upward of 60 meteorites flash per hour.
