Detroit Man Charged In Ferndale Robbery, Hit-And-Run: Police

A Detroit man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a Ferndale robbery and hit-and-run crash, police said.

Ricky Crowder​, 64, was charged with one count of felony armed robbery​, police said. He was placed in jail on a $250,000 cash bond​. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 23.

FERNDALE, MI β€” A Detroit man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a Ferndale robbery and hit-and-run crash, police said.

Ricky Crowder, 64, was charged with one count of felony armed robbery, police said. He was placed in jail on a $250,000 cash bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 23.

Police said Crowder walked into the White Castle on Woodward Avenue and 8 Mile Road, around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 and demanded money from a worker behind the counter.

The worker told police Crowder said he had a gun, but the worker never saw the firearm, police said.

Crowder then took roughly $200 from the worker and left the restaurant, police said.

Crowder then drove away from the restaurant in a silver SUV, which he crashed near 8 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, police said. Crowder never stopped at the scene, police said.

Officials did not release details about the crash. Nobody was injured in the robbery or crash, police said.
