Ferndale Judge Credits Co-Worker For Saving His Life By Donating A Kidney
Would you donate a kidney to save your co-worker's life?

FERNDALE, MI — Would you donate a kidney to save your co-worker's life? That's what one Michigan woman recently, and quite selflessly, did.
The Daily Tribune reports that Linda Carroll, a Ferndale 43rd District Court Administrator, offered to donate a kidney to her co-worker, 43rd District Court Judge Joseph Longo, who was at the time receiving kidney dialysis and waiting for a new kidney on the deceased donor list.
"I can't describe how you feel when someone offers you life" Longo told the Daily Tribune. Longo revealed "The chance of me getting a cadaver kidney was so exceedingly small. The wait would be seven years, if I lived that long."

Longo's health battle began in 2015, when he developed a minor infection and the medicine he took to treat it decimated his kidneys because he had an unknown allergy to it. He has been on a grueling kidney dialysis regimen ever since.
No more. Both Carroll and Longo were a kidney match and underwent successful surgeries in July. They both returned to work after several weeks recuperating.
