Ferndale Pride Raises $25K For LGBTQ Charities

Four local LGBTQ groups will each receive $3,000 via Ferndale Pride grants.

FERNDALE, MI — For the Ferndale Pride festival, 2017 was a record-breaking year for fund raising. Some $25,000 was raised for LGBTQ charities, including $3,000 each for four different organizations and $13 for the Ferndale Community Foundation. Ferndale Pride, which is held each June, has distributed more than $100,000 to local charities via grants, according to a Royal Oak Daily Tribune report.

“We are grateful for all of our festival sponsors and vendors, as well as the businesses and individuals who support our fundraisers throughout the year,” said Julia Music, Ferndale Pride chair, in a statement Monday. “Their generosity allows us to provide a festival with no admission fee for attendees and to give back each year through these grants to local charities that better the lives of LGBTQ people.”
“Next year’s Ferndale Pride festival is already set for June 2, 2018. For more information online visit ferndalepride.com.”
