Man Arrested In Violent Ferndale Carjacking: Police
The incident happened outside a Ferndale bar on Woodward Avenue, according to police.
FERNDALE, MI β Two women were attacked in a carjacking outside a Ferndale bar early Thursday morning, according to police.
Two women were leaving the New Way Bar on Woodward Avenue at 12:02 a.m. when a man stood behind their car, blocking them from driving away from the bar, according to police.
The man accused them of nearly hitting another vehicle and approached the driver, according to police.

He then punched the driver and attacked the passenger who tried to intervene, according to police.
The passenger was knocked unconscious, and when the driver attended to help her, the man got into the car and drove away, according to police.

Officers quickly found the stolen car moving north on Woodward and tried to stop it, according to police.
However, the man kept going until he crashed into shrubbery outside a gas station in Royal Oak where he tried to turn onto Greenleaf from Woodward, according to police.
He got out of the car and tried running away, but officers eventually caught him, according to police.
Bryan Marks, 40, of Mount Clemens, was charged with two counts of carjacking, one count of fleeing police and one count of operating without a license. He was placed in jail with a bond set at $500,000.
His next court date is scheduled for Jan. 2.
