Man Caught Stealing Money Inside Ferndale Bank: Police
Officers caught the man trying to rob the bank in downtown Ferndale while he was still inside the building, police said.
FERNDALE, MI β A man could spend the rest of his life in prison after he was caught stealing a large amount of cash from a Ferndale bank Monday, according to police.
Ricky Moore, 50, was charged with one count of bank robbery. He was placed in jail with a $250,000 cash bond. His next court date was scheduled for Nov. 30.
Police said Moore walked into the Huntington Bank in the 306 block of West 9 Mile Road at 11:04 a.m. Moore then passed the teller a note demanding money and implied that he was carrying a weapon, according to police.

The teller then passed a large amount of cash to Moore, who was then arrested by police while he was still in the bank, according to police.
"Bank robberies can be terrifying for bank tellers and other customers, and they undermine the sense of safety that all of us should feel when we are at work or conducting business," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. "We will hold those who commit robberies or threaten violence accountable."
