Man Charged With Murder In Oakland County Killing Of Sister, Nephew: Police

Investigators have not revealed a motive for the double killing.

HAZEL PARK, MI — A man is facing murder charges after police said he killed his sister and nephew earlier this week in Oakland County.

Officers found 41-year-old Linda Hill and her son, Kardi Jackson, dead Monday inside a Hazel Park located on Berdeno Avenue, near Interstate 75 and 9 Mile Road, according to police.

Ladamien Keith Hill, 43, of Redford, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the killing, according to police.

Officials said Hill was on the phone and had told the caller she had to go, because her brother had arrived at her house. Her brother's car was seen in the area at the time of the killings and later that night, officials said.

Officers arrested Hill Tuesday after investigators found evidence at a Pontiac home linking Hill to the double killing, but didn't release any further details, according to police.

Investigators still have not said how the 41-year-old woman and her 12-year-old son died, but noted they sustained injuries from "apparent trauma." They also did not reveal a motive for the double killing.

"This is a case of shocking and deplorable violence against a single mother and her son in their own home," Oakland County Prosecutors Karen McDonald said. "Linda Hill and Kardi Jackson should still be with us. My heart goes out to their family as they grieve for their loss."

Hazel Park Schools said the boy was a student within the district. They also said they would make counselors and mental health professionals available to students affected by their classmate's death.

Family members created a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral costs. As of Friday, the page had raised more than $11,600.

"Linda was loved by everyone who knew her; she would have given the shirt off her back to help others," the page read. "Kardi was the sweetest child, never bothered anyone, always enjoying his video games and spending time with family."
