Man Injured In Shooting Outside Oakland County Nightclub: Police

Police are not sure what led to the shooting.

FERNDALE, MI β€” A man was shot and injured early Sunday morning outside an Oakland County nightclub, according to police.

The shooting happened at 12:30 a.m. Sunday outside the Orchid Theatre, located on Nine Mile Road in Ferndale, according to police.

Police said officers who were on foot patrol in the downtown area heard "multiple gunshots fired" in the Woodward Alley at 9 Mile and Woodward.

Officers arrived within a minute and found a Warren man suffering from a gunshot wound to the groin area near the back door of the Orchid Theatre, according to police.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, according to police.

Police have not released any description of the shooter, who they believe fled the scene in a vehicle after the shooting.

Police are not sure what led to the shooting.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, according to police.

"Our officers responded within seconds of hearing gunfire and immediately rendered lifesaving aid to the victim," Ferndale Police Chief David Spellman said. "Their quick response stabilized the victim until Ferndale Fire arrived."
