Popular Grey Ghost Burger​ Is Getting Its Own Metro Detroit Restaurant

FERNDALE, MI — The group behind the popular Grey Ghost burger is planning to open its first restaurant in the metro Detroit area, according to a news release.

Four Man Ladder Hospitality announced Monday the new restaurant will open in Ferndale sometime this summer, according to the release.

Officials have not yet decided what the new restaurant will be called, but said they recently acquired a nearly 1,000-square-foot building at 22305 Woodward Avenue.

The menu, which is led by chefs Joe Giacomino and John Vermiglio, beverage director Will Lee and director of operations Michael Gray, will focus on the team’s popular Grey Ghost burger, which is more like two smashed patties stacked to form the burger that's topped with a unique dill-mayo sauce. There will also be a chicken sandwich and sides added to the menu, according to the release.

"Over the past nine years, our beloved Grey Ghost burger has developed a loyal following," Chef and Co-owner John Vermiglio said. "Its simple preparation and exceptional ingredients resonate with our guests, and we’re excited to translate that same spirit into a quick-service format. Alongside this fan favorite, we’ll introduce fresh new menu items, all crafted with the same commitment to quality."

In addition to the Ferndale spot, the team said they plan to open more restaurants in the future. The group also operates Grey Ghost at 42 Watson in Detroit, Second Best bar in Midtown and Basan restaurant near Little Caesars Arena.

Officials will release more details about the menu, the restaurant name and the grand opening date at a later time.
