Small-Business Owners, Entrepreneurs to Get Expert Advice

Five small-business development leaders will offer tips at session sponsored by Ferndale Small Business Collaborative.

If you’re building a small business in Ferndale — regardless of the stage it’s in — you won’t want to miss the upcoming BizInnovate session.

Small-business owners and entrepreneurs in Ferndale can get expert advice and network with their peers at the inaugural BizInnovate session coming up Nov. 4.

The event, to be held from 8-10 a.m. at the Rust Belt Market, 22801 Woodward Ave., will feature informational talks by five leaders in the small-business development field, as well as a chance for owners to come together, meet and share ideas.

It’s open to all Ferndale small-business owners, entrepreneurs, and startup leaders, no matter what stage their business or idea is in.

The program is sponsored by the Ferndale Small Business Collaborative (FSBC), an organization comprised of leaders from the city of Ferndale, Downtown Development Authority, Chamber of Commerce, Ferndale Area District Library, Ferndale School District and Michigan Works.

Speakers are:

  • Jeff Aronoff, founder of Sidewalk Ventures
  • Evan Malter, founder of ZipCap
  • April Boyle, executive director of the Build Institute
  • Derek Edwards, vice president of Invest Detroit
  • Camille Walker-Banks, executive director of Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Business program
