The curriculum emphasizes a combination of traditional fine arts processes and skills such as drawing, painting, and sculpture, with new technologies and media such as 3D printing, casting, and installation. Students gain experience exhibiting their work in the Annual MCC Student Art Show, statewide student art competitions, and an Annual Student Art Fair.

The Media Arts & Entertainment Technology (MAET) program focuses on preparing students for a wide range of professional employment, both in Michigan and nationally, including positions in the movie industry, at radio and television stations, advertising agencies, concert venues, media production and post-production facilities, school systems, nonprofits and corporations.
