SIPI Inc. seeks survey feedback from Flint community (midmichigannow.com) — A Flint-based business development group, SIPI Inc., is asking residents who attended its free local workshops to complete an anonymous survey so it can better tailor future programs to community needs. Participants can share honest feedback about what worked and what didn’t, and three respondents will be randomly selected to receive a $50 Visa gift card.
   

2. Chairman of Genesee County Commissioners not running for Flint Mayor (wnem.com) — Flint residents won’t see Genesee County Board Chair Delrico Loyd on the mayoral ballot this cycle, as he’s decided not to run while still pledging to serve the city as commissioner. Citing Flint’s unresolved issues and divisive politics, Loyd says he’ll keep working on water, safety, and economic challenges while leaving the door open to a future mayoral bid.
   

3. Could Maduro's capture lower gas prices in Michigan? (wnem.com) — Flint-area drivers are currently paying about $2.65 per gallon, and an oil expert says prices could drop closer to $2 in the coming months. He explains how the U.S. capture of Venezuela’s former president Nicolas Maduro might boost global oil supply, potentially lowering not just fuel costs in Genesee County but also broader energy-related expenses.
   

4. Flint shelters provide crucial warming centers amid housing crisis (midmichigannow.com) — Flint residents facing homelessness can find nighttime warmth this winter at Catholic Charities and the Shelter of Flint, which has opened its basement to women and children for the first time. With repairs limiting space at the North End Soup Kitchen, the Center for Hope is serving men nightly, as both organizations work together to meet growing need amid a local housing crisis.
   

5. Long-Lost Harry Bertoia Sculpture Is Installed in GM's Global Headquarters (artnews.com) — A major 1970 sculpture originally commissioned for Flint’s Genesee Valley Mall has been restored and now hangs in the atrium of GM’s new global headquarters in Detroit. The long-hidden Harry Bertoia piece, once tucked away in a closed Southfield mall, has been repaired and placed back on public view, reconnecting a bit of Flint retail history with Michigan’s automotive hub.
