The roundup also highlights a new MSU public health facility, a halted Flint blight program, and fresh endowments for historic local organizations.
   

• Louise Lewis (thebradentontimes.com) — Longtime Flint resident Louise Greeson Lewis, who settled here with her husband Troy in 1958 before later moving to Fenton and eventually back to Georgia, has died at 88. She worked nearly two decades at Hamady Brothers Grocery in Fenton and is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and church member with deep ties to Michigan and her Red Bud roots.
   

• ‘Safety Town' program would teach Walker kids lifesaving skills in mini city (mlive.com) — Flint families may recognize the Safety Town program, which already runs in Flint and other Michigan cities, as Walker officials plan a similar four-day safety “mini city” for young kids in June 2026. The Walker event will teach fire, bike, pedestrian, and emergency safety with help from local police, firefighters, and 911 staff, and organizers hope to make it an annual program.
