• Trinity, MyMichigan Health pledge to offer hepatitis B vaccine at birth (freep.com subscription) — Hospitals serving Gaylord are among 84 Michigan facilities that will keep offering newborns a hepatitis B shot within 24 hours of birth, despite a new federal advisory panel’s recommendation to delay it. State health officials and major medical groups argue the birth dose is safe, prevents lifelong liver disease, and especially protects babies whose families may miss later appointments.
