- Grand Rapids Community College adds five new classes to their craft brewing program that's set to begin this upcoming fall. As the number of breweries continues to increase, the local college is focused on educating students about the variety of skills it takes to be successful within the brewing industry. According to one of GRCC's program instructors, the industry is shifting demands, so they want to make sure budding brewers have all the knowledge they need prior to taking on the job. - After a serious three-vehicle crash on Friday, Jun. 23 in Kent County, four individuals were taken to a nearby hospital. According to recent police reports, an 80-year-old man crossed the centerline of the road and ended up sideswiping a vehicle driven by a woman and her son. Following, he also collided head-on with another vehicle that was being driven by a 23-year-old man. (WWMT)
- Flights of Flavor is taking off in Grand Rapids creating a new way for residents and travelers to experience the unique tastes and variety within the city's culinary scene. More than 25 restaurants and venues including Social House and Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea will be participating by creating their own "flight menus" that feature a variety of food and drinks, including cupcakes, pizza, margaritas, and more. In addition, restaurant-goers will be able to use their smartphones to earn incentive points when ordering a Flights of Flavor dish. (Fox17Online.com)
