Autumn Leaves Begin To Fall... and the City Picks Them Up

All five Grosse Pointe communities have leaf pickup programs in full swing

The cooler temperatures have brought the changing of the colors in the Grosse Pointes and beyond.
Once green trees are now a brilliant array of orange and red and yellow.
Not only is this spectacular autumn spectrum of color among the trees, it can also be found on the ground.
This means residents from each of the Grosse Pointe communities has a standing date with rake or a leaf blower each week for the next several.
It also means crews are already beginning to work their way through the neighborhoods collecting these leaves from along the curb.
In every community, residents can rake leaves into the street along the curb in front of their house and have them swept, pushed and taken away.
A complete schedule of pickup days for each community is available online on the respective city website or by calling city offices during normal business hours.
