Dispatches: The Changing American Dream

The American Dream is ever-changing. While it represents a much larger idea, at the heart, it's a very personal dream. 

It began with the infusion of immigrants and the hope for a new life. It has continued through good times and bad, but never ceased to exist. 

Now Grosse Pointe Patch, along with more than 900 Patches across the country, is launching a new series focusing on that dream and how the economy and political environment may have shaped or changed it. 

Every day, businesses, children, adults, business owners, community organizations and others adapt to the changes. Whether it's a service organization expanding services to help more people who are now in need or a business offering different goods to meet a different demand or even the college grad returning home to a less-than-ideal job market. 

Everyone plays a different role as the country faces more challenging times.

This is where you come in. Patch wants to offer a look into the window of communities across the country to share the compelling stories we know are out there.
