4. Rep. Tim Aug. 22 at the Grosse Pointe Board of Realtors office to discuss the Governor's Schools of Choice proposal individually with residents. Mark your calendar.

5. Less than six months after taking over the former Community Central Bank at Mack Avenue and Roslyn Road, Talmer Bank and Trust will close the branch in mid-September. The employees will be transferred to the branch down the street on Mack Avenue between South Renaud and Lochmoor Boulevard.
