Grosse Point Woman, 19, Killed In Crash In Dallas: Police

A 27-year-old woman faces multiple felonies after police said she was driving drunk when the crash happened.

DALLAS — A 19-year-old woman from Grosse Pointe was killed in a Sunday crash in Dallas, according to police.

Honor Elizabeth Wallace, a student at Southern Methodist University, was driving a car east on Monticello Avenue at North Central Expressway service road in Dallas at 4:20 p.m. with a green light, police said.

As Wallace's car was passing through the intersection, a driver on the service road ran a red light and broad-sided Wallace's car, police said.

Wallace, her passenger and the driver of the other car, Lynlee Pollis, were all taken to a nearby hospital where Wallace died, police said.

Wallace's passenger was listed in stable condition and Pollis was treated for minor injuries, police said.

Pollis, 27, was arrested in connection to the crash and was charged with intoxicated manslaughter and intoxicated assault with a vehicle, reports said. She was being held on a $100,000 bond.

"The SMU community is deeply saddened by the tragic death of Honor Wallace," SMU President for Student Affairs Dr. KC Mmeje said in a statement. "Honor was a valued member of our community, and we offer our heartfelt condolences and support to all who are affected by this loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends and classmates during this difficult time."

A candlelit vigil for Wallace is scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. at the University Liggett School in Grosse Pointe Woods, according to a Facebook page for the event.

Wallace graduated from the school as a merit scholar in 2022, according to the post. She also attended Richard Elementary School and Brownell Middle School in Grosse Pointe Farms.
