Grosse Pointe Park Asks Residents To Run Water Before Using
Officials said a pressure spike from the city's supplier, the city of Detroit, has created rusty water.
GROSSE POINTE PARK, MI — Officials warned Grosse Pointe Park residents Friday morning to run their water before using it to clear out any rust.
Although officials said the water is safe, there's sediment in it due to a pressure spike from the city's supplier, the city of Detroit, officials said.
Officials asked residents to run cold water in the lowest spot in their houses until the water runs clear, as it takes time for the sediment to clear up.

Officials also asked residents to not do any laundry or use the hot water as the sediment will get into the tank.
"This is natural sediment that occurs in the pipes and is NON toxic it is a form of iron," said Grosse Pointe Park officials.
