Grosse Pointe Remembers 9/11

Residents of the Grosse Pointes will pause Wednesday to remember those who lost their life on 9/11.

A large banner is hanging outside Grosse Pointe Farms City Hall, and during the school day Wednesday, students from Grosse Pointe North will place American flags around the flagpole to honor those who died.

The commemoration is being organized by Grosse Pointe North’s Young Americans for Freedom.

“We are at a time where many of my peers cannot remember where they were on the day of the attacks,” said Chapter Senior Chair, Grant Strobl, in a release. “The memorial opens students’ eyes to why we must never forget the innocent lives lost and why we must never forget how fortunate we are to live in the free world.”
