Grosse Pointe Woods Teen's Death Still Under Investigation
Kara Wilhelm was found dead in her bed in May by her parents. Her cause of death has not yet been determined as officials await laboratory test results.

Sgt. Raymond Yonkowski said the case is at a standstill until laboratory results are received by the medical examiner's office. In the immediate days following the discovery of Wilhelm's body, police could not find a young man who had been staying at her house with her while her parents were away. Several items were taken into evidence from the house, including many of his belongings.

Yonkowski said the man has since been located and has been cooperative with police. Yonkowski declined to say whether the man was able to shed any light on the investigation or the circumstances of Wilhelm's death.
Meanwhile, the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled out drugs as having any part of Wilhelm's death, Schmidt said via email. His office is awaiting results of microscopic slide tests, he said.
