Hydrangea Kitchen to Add Outdoor Seating
The new cafe on Fisher Road next to its sister boutique will soon offer an outdoor dining experience to its customers after the City of Grosse Pointe council approved the request Monday.
received unanimous approval Monday from the council to add outdoor seating to its Fisher Road cafe.
The new restaurant at 371 Fisher Road will feature two tables with four chairs each on the sidewalk in front of its business accessible to its customers on a self-serve basis, city planner John Jackson said.
Hydrangea's request is similar to what other eateries on Fisher Road offer as far as outdoor dining, Jackson said, explaining the restaurant does not serve alcohol so there is no requirement for the area to be contained.

Customers will be allowed to take their meals outdoors to the tables if they wish to eat outside but tableside service will not be offered, Jackson said.
The city does require that business owners with outdoor seating keep the area clean of trash and other debris even when tableside service is not offered.
