League of Women Voters to Hold Candidate Forums
For any contested race in the Grosse Pointes and Harper Woods, the League of Women Voters of Grosse Pointe will hold a candidate forum allowing the public to meet and hear from those seeking public office.

As election season begins to heat up with the November polls right around the corner, the League of Women Voters of Grosse Pointe is offering a series of candidate forums throughout October.
The candidate forums give those interested in holding public office an opportunity to introduce themselves to the community and discuss local issues. The League is holding forums for any race that is contested, meaning there are more residents seeking seats than the number available.

Harper Woods City Council
Oct. 5 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Harper Woods Community Center
- Three candidates for the mayoral seat
- Six candidates for three city council seats
Grosse Pointe Public School Board
Oct. 6 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

- Three candidates for two seats
Grosse Pointe Shores City Council
Oct. 11 from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
Auditorium of the
- Two mayoral candidates
- Nine candidates for six city council seats
Grosse Pointe Woods City Council
Oct. 13 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
City Council Chambers
- Six candidates for three seats
Grosse Pointe Park City Council
Oct. 19 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
City Council Chambers
- Four candidates for three seats
The last day to register to vote to ensure voting ability Nov. 8 is Oct. 11. Registration cards are available at all of the city halls throughout the Grosse Pointes and more information about the requirements of registration is available from the Michigan Secretary of State.
