Little League World Series 2017: Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Game 1 Results

WILLIAMSPORT, PA — The Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League team lost its first game in the Little League World Series, falling to a team from Lufkin, Texas, 1-5. The tournament taking place in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, is a double-elimination event, meaning Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores has a chance to come back, as they did in Great Lakes Regional Tournament.

The team will go on to play the Holbrook little league team from Jackson, New Jersey, in an elimination game at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The 13 players from the Grosse Pointe communities showed heart and determination in making it to the Little League World Series after winning the double-elimination Great Lakes Regional Tournament. The Little League World Series wraps up with the Aug. 27 title game.
