Park Police Arrest 2 in Pharmacy Break-In
The Grosse Pointe Park police arrested two Detroit men in connection with the December break-in and theft from a Kercheval Avenue pharmacy. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Andre Betty, 25, of Detroit, has already been arraigned in Grosse Pointe Park Court on felony charges of breaking and entering and larceny of a building. His co-defendent D.W. Scott Peterson, 26, was arrested today and will be arraigned either today or tomorrow.
Peterson was a passenger in a car that was stopped today by Detroit Police for a simple traffic offense, Public Safety Director David Hiller said Thursday. Detroit officers arrested him after discovering the warrant that was entered into the Law Enforcement Information Network system last week. He has been turned over to Park police and is being interviewed this morning, Hiller said.

Both men will be scheduled for a preliminary exam date of Jan. 25.
According to a written release from Hiller's office, investigators believed there were similarities in the December burglary to those committed in July of the same pharmacy. The burglaries identities were well concealed with heavy clothing, hoodies and scarves they wore over their faces but the crime was caught on camera.

Detectives were able to identify the two men from the December crime while reviewing information from the first investigation.

According to the written release about the arrest of Betty, the ACTION team, or Arrest Car Thieves in Our Neighborhood, executed searches of two homes in Detroit during the investigation based on warrants they received from the court.
During Betty's arrest, officers found evidence suggesting he was involved in thefts of drugs from other pharmacies as well. Hiller said Thursday all of the information related to other potential pharmacy thefts was turned over to the apporpriate police department Wednesday.
Betty is being held in the Wayne County Jail on $150,000 bail. Meanwhile, Peterson was arrested today and is being processed.
According to the Michigan Department of Corrections, Betty is serving two years probation that began earlier this month stemming from a similar crime in November. He pleaded guilty to breaking and entering a building in Wayne County. The crime happened Nov. 2.
Additional information on Peterson was not immediately available Thursday.
