• Diane Kirby MacKenzie (grossepointenews.com) — Grosse Pointe residents are remembering Diane Kirby MacKenzie, an 83-year-old former Grosse Pointe Farms resident and graduate of Grosse Pointe Academy and Grosse Pointe South High School. After early work in Detroit’s travel industry, she built a life of service in Harbor Springs, volunteering in hospice care, food pantries, and community organizations before her passing on Dec. 2, 2025.

• Wayne County Drivers Save $539 Per Year Following Michigan Insurance Reform (wrif.com) — If you live in Grosse Pointe, your Wayne County address helped you benefit from Michigan’s 2019 auto insurance reforms, which cut average county premiums by $539 a year by 2024. The law limited use of ZIP codes and credit scores, added coverage choices, and drew dozens of new insurers, though some critics worry about reduced medical support after serious crashes.
