The 20th annual picnic was moved inside due to the wet conditions outside. About 100 people attended, eating a National Coney Island lunch and spending time with Paws the Tiger.
The early morning showers did not slow attendance at the 20th annual Senior Picnic Saturday. The picnic moved into the bathhouse due to the wet conditions but attendance neared 100, organizers said.
Paws the Tiger made an appearance, dancing with some of the seniors to the live music provided by John Needham, of Port Huron. Shore Pointe Village paid for the Paws visit, said Mary Rose Nelson, who heads up the Grosse Pointe Woods Senior Commission.
The picnic was to happen on the lawn of Lake Front Park near the boardwalk at Lake St. Clair's edge but was moved inside because of the wet conditions from the overnight and early morning rainshowers.
