Police Blotter: Burglary, Theft, Harassing Phone Calls
The following information is gathered from the Public Safety Departments of the City of Grosse Pointe and Grosse Pointe Farms. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

police are investigating an attempted burglary in the 500 block of Lincoln Road reported Aug. 1. The resident noticed damage to a window near a side door and called police. The screen and window molding had been cut but the person did not get into the house, according to a report.Â
Fraudulent Debit Card Use
City of Grosse Pointe police are investigating fraudulent purchases made on a resident's debit card including three activated cell phone numbers. Other purchases include online purchases ranging from $15.70 to $104.94 totals, according to a report.Â

Thefts
A 49-year-old resident reported a moped stolen from his garage in the 200 block of Touraine Road between July 31 and Aug. 1. The victim did not have any vehicle information to provide to police and there were no witnesses to the crime, according to a report.Â

An employee of Kismet, a Mack Avenue salon, reported a concrete Buddha statute was stolen from the front of the business overnight July 30. The employee told officers the statue was there when she left at 5 p.m. July 30 and when she returned at 12 p.m. July 31, she noticed it was missing.Â
The father of two teenage boys reported that a Wii game system was stolen from his ex-wife's home in the 300 block of Belanger between July 28 and July 29. The man told officers he was watching over the house while his ex-wife was out of town as both of his sons were staying there. He also reported that four to five games were stolen. The system belonged to his 17-year-old son, and his 18-year-old son—arrested several weeks ago by Farms police who found him and another teen preparing to shoot heroin in their car—had several friends over to the house. The 18-year-old provided police with a list of names and phone numbers of those who were at the house, according to a report.Â
A stolen dump truck was recovered by its Grosse Pointe Farms owner July 21 about 4 p.m. near West Warren and McDonald in Detroit. It had been stolen from near Alter and Charlevoix about 2:30 p.m.Â
Caller Admonished by Police
A 72-year-old City of Grosse Pointe woman reported receiving harassing phone calls overnight from a man asking if she was available. When police contacted the man, he said he was trying to reach a woman he'd met the prior night at a social establishment and he told officers he believes he was given the wrong phone number. He agreed to stop calling the woman after talking with police. The woman's husband also told the man to stop calling, according to a report.Â
