See the Detroit Zoo in a Whole New Light
Wild Lights to illuminate holiday season for 24 nights with two million LED lights.

The Detroit Zoo will light up the night for the first time in nearly a decade with Wild Lights, a spectacular holiday light display presented by Bank of America. More than two million twinkling LED lights will brighten the evening sky and illuminate buildings, animal sculptures and trees through the front of the Zoo.Β
βThe Detroit Zoo is a magical place in winter and it will be even more so in the glow of holiday lights,β said Ron Kagan, Detroit Zoological Society Executive Director and CEO. βOur hope is that Wild Lights will again become a holiday tradition for thousands of families in the community.βΒ
Wild Lights guests will take in the lights and sights along a half-mile trail and enjoy holiday entertainment and activities for kids of all ages. Live performances will include carolers and the Off Broadway Productions mini-musical βFrostyβs Folliesβ. A musical light show, cookie decorating, storytelling, ice carving demonstrations and a Lego city and train display will add to the festivities. Seasonal refreshments, holiday spirits, photos with Santa (throughDec. 23), Wild Lights souvenirs and zoo-themed holiday gifts will be available for purchase.Β
βThe Polar Express 4-D Experienceβ will be shown exclusively during Wild Lights at the Wild Adventure Zoneβs 4-D Theater. Also showing at the Wild Adventure Zoneβs Simulator Ride will be βHappy Feet: Mumbleβs Wild Rideβ. Tickets for each experience are $5 with Wild Lights admission or a βBundle Upβ price of $7 for both; children under 2 are free.Β
