Blue Devils boys soccer team squares off in regional round with Canton High School tonight at Dearborn High School

The boys varsity soccer team from Grosse Pointe South hopes to keep its state title dreams alive at 7 p.m. tonight against Canton High School in the opening round of regional play at Dearborn High School.
The Blue Devils head into the regional semifinals on the heels of a thrilling 1-0 victory over Warren De La Salle in the district final last weekΒ at South.
The district title was hard-earned, with wins over Roseville High School (7-0) and Warren Cousino (4-0) in the opening two contests of the district.

The Norsemen fell to De La Salle, 3-1, in the district semifinal after ousting East Detroit, 8-0 earlier in the tournament.
Should the Blue Devils get by Canton in the regional opener, the squad will square off with the winner of the Livonia Franklin/Woodhaven-Brownstown game in the regional final at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
