University Liggett Runs to Cross Country State Finals
Knights finish third at regionals. Grosse Pointe North and Grosse Pointe South girls teams and GPS boys team also make Division 1 state finals.
The girls cross country team will compete in the Division 4 state finals this weekend at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
Kevin Allen of the University Liggett boys cross country team also will compete as an individual at the state finals.
Danielle Lorant led the University Liggett girls to a third-place team finish at the regional meet on Saturday to earn a trip to the state finals.

Lorant placed third overall, and Haleigh Ristovski finished 14th as both runners picked up individual medals.
Wesley DeJoie was 19th, and Katarina Goitz was 21st for the Knights.

Other top runners for the University Liggett girls team were Taylor Slayton, Jo Hummell and Aria Ganz-Waple.
Allen posted a 5:30 mile and finished sixth in the boys race to earn a trip to the state finals.

Division 1
The girls cross country teams from both and qualified for the state meet, as did the boys team from Grosse Pointe South.
Allison Francis, Katy VanEgmond, Natalie Schaefer, Julia Rustmann, Alyse Victor, Sarah Rustmann and Kelsey Richards compete for the GPN girls team.
Hannah Meier, Kelsie Schwartz, Haley Meier, Ersula Farrow, Megan Sklarski, Carolyn Sullivan and Nicole Keller run for the GPS girls teams.
Member of the GPS boys team are Austin Montgomery, Charles Warren, Jacob Knuth, Matt Geist, Cameron Davies, Bradley Sanford and Bailey Labadie.
Nick Finley of Grosse Pointe North will compete as an individual in the boys state finals.
