Cromaine District Library Announces Winter Reading Challenge 2021
Adult: Complete 5 challenges to earn an entry into the grand prize drawing. Only one entry per person.

Winter Reading Challenge 2021 Begins! Thereβs nothing better than curling up with a good book on a snowy day. Thatβs why this winter, Cromaine challenges you to read! Join us for the Winter Reading Challenge by completing the challenges for your age group until March 1, earning an entry into the grand prize drawing! Prizes include gift cards to Amazon, Target, and more. Join us tomorrow, December 2 for our Winter Reading Warm-Up to learn more about the Winter Reading Challenge, pick up a challenge sheet, and enjoy crafts, activities, hot cocoa, and more!
Plus, help us bring cheer to our community by decorating a card at our Cards for Seniors station or donating waterproof gloves for the Foster Closet of Michigan - Livingston County. Here are the challenges for each age group to complete by March 1:
Pre-K: Read with your child 50 times to receive a free book, bag of surprise items, and an entry into the grand prize drawing. Color in the challenge sheet each time you and your child sit down to read together! This age group is for children ages 5 and under.
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade: Complete 25 reading challenges to receive a free book, bag of surprise items, and an entry into the grand prize drawing. Challenges include reading a funny book, reading to your favorite person, reading a recipe from a cookbook and making it with a special person, and more.
Grades 3-4: Complete 25 reading challenges to receive a free book, bag of surprise items, and an entry into the grand prize drawing. Challenges include reading fiction, reading a graphic novel, listening to an audiobook, and more.
Grades 5-12: Read 5 books to receive a free book, bag of surprise items, and an entry into the grand prize drawing. Challenges include reading a debut novel by a brand new author, reading a book based solely on the cover, listening to an audiobook, and more.
Adult: Complete 5 challenges to earn an entry into the grand prize drawing. Only one entry per person.
Challenges include attending a Cromaine program, taking a Universal Class, reading a memoir or biography, and more! Download a challenge sheet at our Winter Reading Challenge website, or visit the library and pick up a copy in person. Plus, donβt forget to join us this month for our wonderful winter programs for all ages! Adults can enjoy Craft Kits, a Desert Islands Favorite video focusing on culinary delights, and more! Be sure to also tune in to the virtual Book and Author Society Author Talk with Mallory O'Meara, author of Girly Drinks, before joining us for our virtual Holiday Cocktails program!We're stirring up all kinds of winter fun in the Youth Department, with programs like Craft Wars, Winter Crafts Take-Home Kit, and more! And don't forget about the Teens and Tweens-- we have fun programs for both age groups like craft wars, book clubs, DIY mugs and cocoa, and a program with YA author Cameron Roberts.
