• $1M Powerball Ticket Sold At Detroit Area Kroger (patch.com) — A $1 million Powerball ticket was sold at the Kroger on East Highland Road in Howell, and the lucky player has one year from the drawing date to claim the prize. If you bought a ticket there on Christmas Eve, double-check your numbers and contact Michigan Lottery’s Player Relations division to schedule an appointment if you’re the winner.
   

• Check out the latest state hockey rankings (mlive.com) — Howell’s hockey team has climbed to the top spot in Michigan’s Super 10 rankings and also holds the No. 1 ranking in Division 1 statewide.
