Howell Township shoots down rezoning request near airport (livingstondaily.com) — Howell Township trustees have unanimously rejected a rezoning request for two parcels near Livingston County Airport and LACASA, after residents again packed Township Hall with concerns. With the data center proposal already on hold, neighbors and LACASA leaders argued that industrial zoning could disrupt nearby homes and the nonprofit’s quiet healing environment, prompting officials to deny the industrial flex designation. 
2. Howell pastor speaks with 7 News Detroit after preschool located at his church abruptly closes (wxyz.com) — Families in Howell are scrambling for childcare after the longtime preschool at First Presbyterian Church abruptly shut down last Friday due to severe financial troubles. Parents say they had offered fundraising help, while the pastor maintains the separate nonprofit simply ran out of money and promises church offerings will cover outstanding tuition and bills.
3. Man who helped stop a data center in Caledonia now advising people nationwide (spectrumnews1.com) — More than 200 Howell-area residents recently packed a meeting to hear a Wisconsin activist explain the risks and tradeoffs of hosting a large data center, and the developer soon withdrew its proposal. His experience stopping a Microsoft project in Caledonia, Wisconsin is now guiding communities nationwide as they push for stricter oversight and smarter siting of data centers.
4. Fireball over Mid-Michigan seen throughout Midwest states (wkar.org) — A bright meteor lit up skies over Howell and other Mid-Michigan communities Saturday night, with weather cameras clearly capturing the fireball overhead. Experts say the event’s breakup zone was likely near Lansing, and residents who find unusual rocks can ask Abrams Planetarium to help determine if they’re meteorites. The sighting has sparked fresh local interest in stargazing and space science.
