1 Dead, 3 Hurt In 3-Car Crash In Macomb County: Sheriff

The crash happened at the intersection of Michigan 53 and 32 Mile Road in Macomb County, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A woman was killed and three other people were injured in a three-car crash in Washington Township Monday morning, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

A 27-year-old Riley Township woman was driving a Ford Escape south on Michigan 53 at 9:30 a.m. when she drove through a red-light at 32 Mile Road, striking a Jeep in the front passenger door, according to the sheriff's office.

The Jeep, which was moving west on 32 Mile Road, then spun around and struck a Chevy pickup truck, according to the sheriff's office.

A 64-year-old Macomb Township man, who was driving the Jeep, and a 63-year-old Macomb Township woman, who was a passenger, were taken to a nearby hospital where the woman died, according to the sheriff's office.

The 64-year-old Macomb Township man was listed in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.

A 68-year-old Oxford man, who was driving the Chevy pickup truck was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.

The driver of the Jeep was also listed in stable condition at a nearby hospital, according to the sheriff's office.

No further information was released.

Officials were still investigating the crash.
