LCPS Trustee Appointed to State School Board of Directors

L’Anse Creuse Public Schools Trustee Donald Hubler has been appointed to serve as the vice president of the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Board of Directors.

The MASB Board of Directors governs the association and oversees activities, establishes operating policy that furthers the mission of MASB and acts as the voice for more than 500 member school boards across the state. The focus of the board of directors it to provide quality educational leadership services and advocate for student achievement in Michigan.

“MASB is fortunate to have someone with Donald’s experience and integrity serve as an officer on the board of directors,” said Kathy Hayes, MASB executive director, in a prepared statement. “He will undoubtedly make quality contributions to the association and public education.”

Hubler has served on the L’Anse Creuse Board of Education for six years and has earned the Award of Distinction in the MASB certification and training program, as well as being active with committees and regional events.

“As a school board member, I share the concerns of all people involved with education of our state’s residents,” Hubler said, in a prepared statement. “My approach is that we should plan for good times in the bad, and plan for bad times in the good."
