MACOMB COUNTY, MI — A Macomb County man hit the Michigan Lotto 47 jackpot worth $4.57 million last month, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

The lucky 52-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the winning Lotto 47 numbers on Aug. 17 (03-08-27-34-40-43), according to lottery officials.

He bought his winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com, according to lottery officials.

The lucky 52-year-old player told lottery officials that he was expecting a $5 or $100 prize after getting a notification email that he had won a prize.

"When I saw I had won the $4.57 million jackpot, I didn’t believe it was real at first. I showed my wife the prize amount and we were both taken aback! It has taken awhile for us to wrap our heads around it," The lucky 52-year-old player told lottery officials.

He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $3.1 million rather than annuity payments for the full amount, according to lottery officials.
