Girlfriend Allegedly Crashed Car Into Boyfriend In Parking Lot Altercation

The suspect admitted to having a parking lot altercation with her boyfriend in Mt. Clemens.

MT. CLEMENS, MI — A couple's parking lot altercation allegedly escalated into a hit and run car-pedestrian crash between the pair, according to a news release. And now the Macomb County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

At 11:08 a.m. on Nov. 12, Sheriff deputies and the Mt. Clemens Fire Department were dispatched to 149 N. River Ct. in Mt. Clemens, where they came upon a 41-year-old severely injured Mt. Clemens man laying in the middle of the parking lot. An ambulance transported the victim to McLaren-Macomb Hospital in critical condition and hospital staff reported that the man had injuries consistent with having been struck by a car.

In talking with neighbors, Sheriff detectives zeroed in on a potential suspect: the victim's girlfriend, 23-year-old Jazzmine Victoria Ransey of Detroit. She reportedly had been at the scene earlier but had since left. Detectives contacted Ransey, who freely admitted to having a parking lot altercation with the victim. By 5 p.m., detectives tracked her to Carlin St. in Detroit and arrested her. The charge? A five-year felony: failure to stop at a crash (causing serious injury). Deputies say the suspect's car, a 2002 Ford Taurus, allegedly contained evidence linking it to the crash.
