Cousino pulls away from Chippewa Valley (macombdaily.com) — Warren Cousino’s boys swim team topped Chippewa Valley 98-81 in a Macomb Area Conference crossover meet in Clinton Township, winning six of 11 events. Downstate men accused of tampering with paternity testing (themorningsun.com) — Macomb County prosecutors say two downstate men are charged with tampering with evidence after one allegedly tried to have the other impersonate him during a court-ordered paternity DNA test in Mount Clemens. Both are jailed on bond, face up to four years in prison plus habitual-offender enhancements, and have upcoming hearings in 41B District Court in Clinton Township.

US military launches strikes in Syria targeting Islamic State fighters after American deaths (timesfreepress.com) — A Macomb resident working as a civilian interpreter was among three Americans killed in a recent ambush in Syria, prompting large-scale U.S. airstrikes on Islamic State targets. Federal officials say more strikes may follow as the Trump administration vows harsh retaliation, while Syria signals continued cooperation against ISIS despite tensions surrounding the attack.
   

5. US Military Launches Strikes in Syria Targeting Islamic State Fighters After American Deaths (tjvnews.com) — A Macomb resident working as a civilian interpreter was among three Americans killed in a recent attack in Syria that prompted large-scale U.S. airstrikes against Islamic State targets. The strikes, ordered by President Trump, hit dozens of sites across central Syria as officials warn more retaliation could follow.
