Driver injured after Jeep leaves road, hits trees in Macomb County following iPhone crash alert (clickondetroit.com) — A driver was seriously hurt when a Jeep left 21 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township, Macomb County, and plowed about 150 feet into the brush after an iPhone crash alert. Police say speed and possible alcohol were factors and are asking anyone who saw the Wednesday night crash to contact Chesterfield Township police or Crime Stoppers with anonymous tips.

2. Three Macomb residents reappointed to commission (macombdaily.com) — Three Macomb County residents from Shelby Township and Sterling Heights have been reappointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission, with terms running through late 2029. Their work spans engineering, bilingual education for the Macomb Intermediate School District, and statewide Asian American civic engagement, giving local voices a direct line into state-level discussions on education, community services, and representation.

3. Ex-Detroit cop seeking Veterans Court entry for his criminal case (macombdaily.com) — Macomb County prosecutors are handling a misdemeanor case against a former Detroit police officer accused of harassing his estranged wife and damaging his stepdaughters’ vehicles, while his attorney seeks placement in the county’s Veterans Treatment Court. The specialty court, based in Clinton Township, could allow him to complete a lengthy program in hopes of having charges dismissed, with another hearing set for February.

4. Detroit rapper Sada Baby faces felony drug charge (mlive.com) — Macomb County prosecutors have bound Detroit rapper Sada Baby’s drug case over to Circuit Court after Sterling Heights police reported finding oxycodone pills during a January traffic stop. He’s charged with low-level controlled substance possession and faces possible enhanced penalties as a third-time habitual offender. An arraignment date in Macomb County Circuit Court has not yet been set.
