Law Enforcement Academy for Seniors Accepting Registrations

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the next Law Enforcement Academy for Seniors.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is accepting registrations the next Law Enforcement Academy for Seniors.

The five-week series of classes allows seniors to learn about the operations of the Macomb County Sheriff's Office and its different divisions.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham is presenting academy with the with the assistance of the Macomb County Senior Citizen Services Department.

Topics that will be covered include:  dispatch, courts, K-9 Unit, Detective Bureau, evidence technician, Youth Bureau, gun range, Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.), County of Macomb Enforcement Team (C.O.M.E.T.), Macomb Area Computer Enforcement unit (M.A.C.E.), Macomb Auto Theft Squad (M.A.T.S.), Traffic, Marine Division, Dive Team and Explorers.

Classes will be held at the Macomb Intermediate School District, 44001 Garfield in Clinton Township. Classes will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, April 2, 9, 23, 30 and May 7.
