Part Of NB M-53 In Macomb County Closing For Several Months

This work is part of a $16 million project on Michigan 53 (Van Dyke Freeway) between 18 Mile Road and Michigan 59 (Hall Road).

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — Part of northbound Michigan 53 (Van Dyke Freeway) in Macomb County closed Monday for the next three months, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The northbound lanes on Michigan 53 (Van Dyke Freeway) will be closed between 18 Mile Road and Michigan 59 (Hall Road) for bridge and roadwork, according to road officials.

Traffic will be detoured to Mound Road, according to road officials.

The construction work comes after the southbound lanes in that same stretch of Michigan 53 (Van Dyke Freeway) were shut down from early March to early July.

This work is part of a $16 million project on Michigan 53 (Van Dyke Freeway) between 18 Mile Road and Michigan 59 (Hall Road) to resurface the roadway, perform concrete and guardrail repairs, repair ten bridges and resurface the 23 Mile ramps to Michigan 53 (Van Dyke Freeway), according to road officials.
