'Stunned': Macomb Man Wins $150K Playing Lottery

Tariel Williams, 48, of Macomb, won $150,000 playing the lottery, officials said. He was "stunned" when he saw the amount.

MACOMB, MI — A Macomb man won $150,000 playing the lottery, officials said.

Tariel Williams, 48, won a $50,000 prize by matching four white balls and the Powerball playing the numbers 2, 10, 50, 59, 61 and a Powerball of 6 in the March 26 drawing. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize tripled to $150,000.

He bought his winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

“I like to play Powerball when the jackpot gets high,” Williams told the lottery. “The day after the drawing, I saw I had an email from the Lottery about a pending prize. I logged on to my account to see what I had won and was stunned when I saw the amount. It was a great feeling!”

Williams recently claimed his prize at lottery headquarters. He plans to pay bills with the winnings.

The Powerball jackpot, last won on Feb. 14, stands at $325 million.

Powerball plays can be bought for $2 each at lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com. The drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
