Watch Officers Save Dog From Burning Macomb County Home: Sheriff

There were no injuries in the fire, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — Officers rescued a dog that was chained outside a burning home last week in Macomb County, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at 12:39 p.m. last Monday, Feb 17, at a home in the 46000 block of Brentwood Street in Macomb Township, according to officials.

A woman called 911 and told officers that she saw smoke and flames coming from a gas dryer in the home’s basement, and had put the family dog outside on its tether before calling, according to officials.

She told officers no one else was inside the burning home, according to officials.

The dog was still tethered when officers arrived at the home, according to officials.

Officer Eric McCombs grabbed a leash from his police cruiser and ran to the side of the home where he secured the dog, according to officials.

He and the dog then ran away from the burning home, according to officials.

The dog was placed in a police cruiser with the woman who called 911, according to officials.

Unfortunately, officials were not able to save the home from the fire, according to officials.
