Woman Arrested In Macomb County Home Invasion
Macomb County Sheriff's deputies arrested the suspect in a home invasion after tracking her via stolen electronic devices.

Kelly Rae Smith was arraigned Tuesday in Clinton Township District Court. Smith, 27, faces two counts in a home invasion case, according to the Macomb County Sheriff. On Feb. 10, deputies responded to a breaking-and-entering in Harrison Township after residents of a house on Rivercrest Ave called around 4:45 p.m. to report they’d arrived home to find jewelry, electronics, and a handgun missing.
Macomb County Sheriff’s Detectives were able to track one of the stolen items, an electronic device, to a home in Ira Township. There, they arrested Smith who police say pawned jewelry and a gun missing from the Rivercrest Ave home. After executing a search warrant on Smith’s house, police apprehended her as she tried to flee out a rear door. Police arrested a second person at Smith’s address on several outstanding warrants unrelated to the home invasion.
Smith was taken to the Macomb County Jail and now faces two counts issued by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office: a count of Home Invasion 2nd Degree (15 year felony) and a count of Receiving and Concealing $1,000.00 - $20,000.00 (5 year) felony. Police say Smith has previous convictions for controlled substance infractions, stealing financial transaction devices and receiving and concealing stolen property.
