Costco Rumors Abound in Chesterfield Township
Township officials say residents have been calling about whether the warehouse store is coming to town.

A mysteriously placed sign alongside a busy road in Chesterfield Township has the community abuzz about a potential Costco store.
But, to the dismay of many big-box shoppers, no plans are in the works for the warehouse store.
"Costco has not approached the township at all," township Planning Director Janice Giese told Patch Friday.
Someone placed a Costco sign on top of another sign in the Gratiot and 21 Mile area, prompting calls from residents to flood into township offices, Giese said.
"The phone has been ringing off the hook," she said.
A Department of Public Works employee removed the sign Thursday to prevent further confusion, according to the township.
